Pavol BohdanZápotočný
Pavol Bohdan Zápotočný belongs to the most promising generation of Slovak pianists. His career began in early childhood at the Pavol Mudroň School of Arts in Martin, where he distinguished himself in national and international competitions long before reaching his teenage years.
From 2019 he studied at the Conservatory in Žilina in the class of Darina Švárna. He currently continues his studies at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica under the renowned Slovak pianist and pedagogue Marián Lapšanský.
His artistic philosophy is shaped by a deliberate refusal to specialize. Pavol moves freely between Classical, Romantic, and contemporary repertoire — a breadth of expression that defines every score he composes.

Artistic Philosophy
This refusal to be pigeonholed is what makes Pavol's work uniquely suited to film and visual media. Every score is approached without preconception — written specifically for what the project itself demands, drawing on whichever musical tradition serves the story best.
As he puts it: "Good dramaturgy is a very important aspect of the aesthetic impression — whether from a concert or a competition. A recital program should encompass important stages in music history, from Classicism to the 21st century." The same principle applies to scoring picture.
